1. Definitions

For the purposes of this Policy:

  • "Sensitive Personal Data" includes financial information, KYC documents, bank account details, Aadhaar or government ID, as defined under the Information Technology Rules, 2011 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
  • "Creator" means any individual or entity submitting content for publication on the Platform.
  • "User" means any person accessing, streaming, purchasing, or interacting with content on the Platform.
  • "Content" includes films, videos, series, posters, trailers, metadata, and all associated information submitted by Creators.
  • "Processing" means collection, recording, storage, use, sharing, or disposal of personal data.

2. Applicability

This Privacy Policy applies to all Users and Creators of Kings Live OTT and governs the collection and use of their personal information.

This Policy is compliant with:

  • The Information Technology Act, 2000
  • IT (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011
  • Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
  • Applicable Indian laws relating to data and privacy

3. Information We Collect

The Company may collect the following categories of information:

A. Personal Information (PI)

Full Name, Email address, Mobile number, Date of Birth, Profile information, Address (for KYC or verification purposes)

B. Sensitive Personal Data (SPDI)

Bank account details, UPI ID, Payment information, PAN, GST (for Creators), KYC documents such as Aadhaar, Passport, Voter ID

C. Technical & Usage Information

Device information, Operating system, IP address, Browser details, Location (approximate), Access logs, Viewing history, Search history, Crash reports, Cookies and tracking identifiers

D. Content-Related Information (Creators Only)

Video files submitted for upload, Posters, trailers, and metadata, Copyright documents, License agreements, Creator account details

4. Purpose of Collection and Processing

We collect and process Your information for the following purposes:

  • Service Delivery: To verify Users and Creators, enable viewing/streaming/purchasing of content, upload and distribute Creator content, manage Platform accounts
  • Payments & Financial Processing: Process ticket transactions, disburse Creator payouts, prevent fraud and chargebacks
  • Platform Operations: Improving recommendations, enhancing user experience, debugging and performance monitoring
  • Legal Compliance: KYC verification, tax and audit compliance, responding to lawful directions
  • Marketing and Communication: Service updates, promotional offers (with consent), Creator updates

5. Legal Basis for Processing

We collect and process data based on: (a) Consent provided by the User/Creator, (b) Contractual necessity for delivering Platform services, (c) Compliance with legal obligations under Indian laws, (d) Legitimate business interests, such as analytics, service optimization, security, and fraud prevention.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies to: Authenticate sessions, Improve recommendations, Analyze usage patterns, Store preferences. Users may disable cookies in browser settings; however, certain services may not function properly thereafter.

7. Sharing of Information

We may share personal information with:

  • Payment Service Providers - For processing transactions, refunds, chargebacks
  • Service Providers & Contractors - Cloud hosting, analytics, email/SMS services, security infrastructure
  • Law Enforcement & Government Authorities - Where required under applicable law or court order
  • Internal Group Companies - In case of Platform transfer or reorganization

We do not sell or rent personal data to third-party advertisers.

8. Data Storage and Security Measures

We implement reasonable security practices including:

  • Secure cloud environment
  • Regular audits and security assessments

Data is stored on secure servers within India or in jurisdictions permitted under Indian data transfer laws.

  • Creator & KYC Data: Retained for the duration of content availability and for statutory retention periods (typically 7–8 years)
  • Transactional Data: Stored for audit, taxation, and regulatory purposes

10. User Rights Under DPDP Act 2023

You have the following rights:

  • Right to Access – Request a copy of Your personal data
  • Right to Correction – Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to Erasure – Request deletion of Your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Right to Withdraw Consent
  • Right to Grievance Redressal
  • Right to Nominate – Appoint a nominee for your data in case of death or incapacity

Requests may be made through support@kingslive.in and shall be processed within 7–21 working days.

11. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for individuals below 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

12. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain external links. We do not control, endorse, or take responsibility for third-party privacy practices or content.

13. Data Breach Notification

In case of a data breach affecting Your personal information: We will notify affected Users/Creators within 72 hours, take corrective actions, and comply with the DPDP Act's reporting requirements.

14. Limitation of Liability

The Company shall not be liable for:

  • Unauthorized access to data due to factors beyond reasonable control
  • Cyberattacks, hacking, phishing, or malware incidents
  • Disclosure mandated by law
  • Loss of profits, revenue, or data arising from use of the Platform

15. Changes to This Policy

The Company reserves the right to modify, amend, or update this Policy at any time. Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
